It is said that money can buy you a bed, but not sleep. So, with sleeping disorders and problems on the rise, it’s imperative that you take certain steps to get a good night’s rest.
Simply Sleep
1. We recommend that you lock your daily chores and work out of the bedroom. Avoid snacking or meals in the bed as well. This will condition your mind to see the bed as a place to sleep and nothing else. While in your bedroom, engage only in activities that promote a restful sleep.
Right Conditions
2. A bedroom that is well ventilated and of constant temperature can work wonders for your sleep. The optimal temperature is said to be between 68°F -72°F. The right mattress can also help regulate your body temperature. For example, Visco memory foam will adjust to your body heat.
Eliminate Noise
3. A fan or a white noise machine is ideal for blocking out distracting noises that keep you from sleeping. You can also try to minimize noise with earplugs.
No Bright Light
4. Reduce light with window blinds, heavy curtains, or an eye mask. Don’t turn on bright lights at all; use a small night lamp in case you wake up at night. Your room should be dark and soothing.
Lesser Distractions
5. Televisions and computers should ideally have no place in a bedroom. This will simply be distracting.
